Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

At the intersection of Redwood Boulevard and Grant Avenue is a median strip with a city-operated fountain. The median is one that Soroptimist International of Novato has claimed for maintenance. On a seasonal basis as needed, members gather as a crew and weed and maintain the median strip.
